How to dispose of Furniture

Steps

  1. If in good condition: Donate to Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Salvation Army, or local shelters.
  2. List on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or Buy Nothing groups for free pickup.
  3. If broken: Check if your waste hauler offers bulky item pickup (may require scheduling).
  4. Wood furniture can sometimes be taken apart and recycled.
  5. Metal furniture can be taken to a scrap metal recycler.

Many charities offer free pickup for furniture donations. Schedule online.
