Maintenance schedule

• Test GFCI outlets — Monthly
• Check for warm faceplates — Every 6 months
• Tighten loose outlets — As needed

Signs it needs replacing

• Outlets feel warm to touch
• Plugs fall out of outlets
• Sparking when plugging in
• Buzzing or crackling sounds
• Discoloration on faceplates
• Two-prong ungrounded outlets

Tips

GFCI outlets are required within 6 feet of water sources. Upgrade older outlets for safety.
